NovaOTT Media ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it when you use the Service at https://novaott.ca.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Account information: name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number.
• Payment information: billing details handled by our secure payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
• Support communications: messages you send to [email protected] or through our contact form.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration and subscription status.
• Device information: device type, operating system and IBO Player version.
• IP address: used for region detection, fraud prevention and service delivery.
• Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies for service improvement (see section 6).

1.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect government identification numbers, biometric data, or financial account details beyond what the payment processor requires.

2. How we use your information

• Deliver the Service: activate and manage your subscription, authenticate your device and stream content.
• Process payments: complete transactions and issue receipts.
• Provide support: answer enquiries, troubleshoot faults and resolve disputes.
• Improve the Service: analyse usage patterns to improve performance and the content lineup.
• Send service communications: order confirmations, expiry reminders and important notices. We do not send unsolicited marketing.
• Prevent fraud and abuse: detect unauthorised account sharing or re-streaming.
• Comply with the law: respond to lawful requests from authorities in Canada.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Legal basis for processing

• Contract performance: processing necessary to deliver your subscription.
• Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, service security and analytics.
• Legal obligation: compliance with applicable law in Canada.
• Consent: where we explicitly ask for it, such as optional communications.

4. Data sharing

Your subscription itself is governed by our service terms, and the billing records listed in the retention table below are held under the refund policy. We share data only with payment processors completing your transaction, infrastructure and CDN providers processing data on our behalf under data-processing agreements, and legal authorities where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of NovaOTT and its users. All processors are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own marketing.

5. Data retention

After the retention period data is permanently deleted or anonymised.

6. Cookies

Essential cookies are required for login sessions and site functionality and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors move through https://novaott.ca; you may opt out through your browser settings. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on your province and applicable law in Canada, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion subject to legal retention requirements, restrict or object to certain processing, receive your data in a portable machine-readable format, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

8. Data security

We apply TLS/SSL encryption to all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive account information, access controls limiting who can view personal data, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure; in the event of a breach affecting your rights we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law in Canada.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent in your province. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly. Note also that NovaOTT carries no adult or explicit content on any plan.

10. International transfers

Your data is processed and stored in secure data centres. Where data is transferred outside Canada, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections are put in place.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published at https://novaott.ca/privacy.html with a revised "last updated" date. For material changes we notify you on WhatsApp or a prominent notice on the site.
